The 4-Panel Drug Test is a device that screens for Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Opiates and THC. This test has been approved by the FDA as a 510(k) Medical Device. The test requires no more than urine samples from one donor at a time and results are obtained in 5 minutes. The cup features three integrated specimen validity combinations (SG/PH/OX), oxidants (OX), ph (PH) and specific gravity (SG). A simple photocopy of the result can be made for easy reference along with an adulteration strip to detect tampering on the front of the container; Adulterants include nitrite, glutaraldehyde, and pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC).
The product is available in two formats; a 5-panel and 4-panel drug test cup. The 4-panel drug test cup features the following drugs: Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Marijuana (THC) and Opiates. The 5-panel drug test cup adds Benzodiazepines and Amphetamines to the list of drugs tested for; both tests use urine as a sample matrix. Both products can be used in conjunction with each other for comprehensive employee screening programs.
One donor at a time will fill the specimen collector cup with urine up to the fill line on top of the screen pad. Each panel has its own designated area on the front of the vessel from which it will accept the necessary amount of urine needed for testing. Urine will flow through the four-chamber drug test cup and automatically activate the built-in specimen validity tests; SG/PH/OX. The SG (specific gravity) pad monitors for tampering by an adulterant like glutaraldehyde, nitrite or pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC). An adulterated urine sample will cause the pad to change colors from pink to red; valid urine samples will cause no color change on this pad.
The PH (pH) pad provides instant results without any interpretation or calculation. pH levels at or below 4.6 may indicate that a urine sample might be dilute which could lead to invalid results. Invalid results may not be reliable due to possible interference of an adulterant added to the specimen or due to medical conditions. The PH pad should be used to monitor for any possible tampering.
PCC (pyridinium chlorochromate) is an oxidant found in some commercial drain cleaners that may also be used as a false positive screen for creatinine. This pad will change colors if PCC is detected in the urine sample based on the concentration of PCC present; valid samples will cause no color change.
Once all three validity tests have been performed, result windows will appear with a negative (-), invalid (+/-) or positive (*) test result for each panel being tested.
The presence of a colored band appearing at the M line indicates a presumptive positive result for that panel. A colored band at the T line indicates a presumptive negative result for that panel.
If a screen test is positive in each of the three panels, a confirmation test should be performed to determine if the results are valid or invalid due to adulteration with an adulterant or specimen dilution. If any one of the screens tests invalid, then no further testing on that sample should be done and the donor must be notified immediately of this invalid result
The following table displays all possible combinations of drug classes tested for:
COC + mAMP + OPI + THC – SG/PH/OX + COC – OPI + THC – SG/PH/OX (4-Panel Drug Test)
MAMP + COC + THC – SG/PH/OX + MAMP – COC – THC – SG/PH/OX (5-Panel Drug Test)
Benzodiazepines and Amphetamines can be added to the 4-panel drug test cup for a 5-panel drug test. Both tests use urine as a sample matrix.
The product is available in two formats; a 5-panel and 4-panel drug test cup. The 5 panel drug test cup adds Benzodiazepines and Amphetamines to the list of drugs tested for; both tests use urine as a sample matrix. Both products can be used in conjunction with each other for comprehensive employee screening programs.
