Meridia is a prescription weight loss drug that is supposed to act on the brain’s appetite to make you feel full faster and stay full longer. According to the studies, participants that took this supplement lost up to ten more pounds than those who took the placebo. Of course it works differently for different people. This supplement was created for people that are overweight with a body fat content of thirty or higher. You need to have a lot of weight to lose to be prescribed Meridia. If you only have a few pounds to lose then this is too much for you to take.

This supplement is a little pricier than most because it works a little differently. It is important to note that you could experience some side effects when taking the product, and there are some signs you should look out for. If you experience any of the following signs you need to seek emergency care immediately. If you have an uneven or heavily pounding heartbeat, your muscles go stiff, you have a high fever, are confused, sweating profusely, bruising easily, your blood pressure is high, your body is numb, you feel weak, your vision is impaired, you are hallucinating, you have tremors, or you are vomiting then you need to get help. The same is true if you have shortness of breath, severe headache, buzzing in your ears, nosebleeds, and pain radiating in your arm. Any of these symptoms can be a sign of a life threatening reaction to the medicine.

Some things that should make you wary and talk to your doctor are if you experience; dry mouth, upset stomach, changes in appetite,  constipation, stomach pain,  headache, back pain, joint pain, feeling nervous, dizzy, or depressed,  flu symptoms, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, warmth, redness, or tingly feeling under your skin, trouble sleeping, or a mild skin rash. Even though these are not severe side effects, monitoring the situation is important because they can easily become major.

As with any medicine some side effects are normal, but when they overshadow any benefit you get from the medicine, it isn’t a good thing. You need to keep in mind that there may be some symptoms that have not been reported. You should always talk to your doctor before taking any supplements to make sure you are able to take it. Monitor the way you feel while taking it and note any changes in your behaviors or mood.
